GENEVE, 15 juillet (Xinhua) — Les représentants permanents de 48 pays auprès l’Office des Nations Unies à Genève ont envoyé jeudi une lettre à Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, directeur général de l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS), en lui exprimant leur soutien aux études sur les origines du virus COVID-19 dans le monde ainsi que leur opposition à la politisation de la recherche de l’origine du virus.

[Thaïlande] Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) WHO Thailand Situation Report – 22 February 2021 [EN/TH]

On 22nd February, 89 new cases of laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 were announced by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand bringing the total number of cases to date to 25,504. No new deaths were reported today.

• Of the cases reported in Thailand to date, 95.5% (24,361) have recovered, 0.3% (83) have died, and 4.2% (1,060) are receiving treatment or are in isolation (736 are in conventional hospitals and 324 in field hospitals).

[Philippines] Philippines Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Situation Report #70, 10 February 2021

Out of total 541,560 confirmed cases reported in the Philippines until today, 54% are male, with the most affected age group 20-29 years (26%) followed by 30-39 years (23.6%).

41% of cases reported from National Capital Region (NCR), CALABARZON (17.5%), Central Visayas (6%), and Central Luzon (6.68%). Largest increase in new cases from NCR.

Out of 11,401 confirmed deaths, 60% are male, with the most affected age group aged over 70 (34.99%) followed by 60-69 years (27.64%)

39.6% of deaths reported from NCR, followed by Central Visayas (12.9%), CALABARZON (12.9%), and Central Luzon (7.8%). Largest increase in new deaths from NCR.

Department of Health (DOH) and WHO emphasizing the need for compliance to, and proper implementation of, national guidelines at LGU level – Currently 170 laboratories using RT-PCR are accredited for COVID-19 testing, as well as 50 laboratories using GeneXpert.

[Laos] Ministry of Health and WHO respond to first case of COVID-19 in Laos

The Ministry of Health (MoH) of Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) has confirmed that two cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Vientiane Capital. The first case is a 28-year-old man who visited Thailand and arrived in Laos on 9 March. He was admitted to hospital on 23 March and is currently in stable condition. The second case is a 36-year-old female tour guide with close contact to a group of tourists that were found to be positive in Cambodia. She was admitted to hospital on 23 March and is currently in stable condition.
