[Viêt Nam] Vietnam approves Russian Sputnik V vaccine

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health has authorized the use of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in the country, official government information website announced on Friday.

It was reported that at the same time, the Ministry of Health has approved the use of the US vaccine Moderna in Vietnam. So far, the only vaccine approved by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam for use on the territory of the country was AstraZeneca.

[Malaisie] Malaysia is in final talks with Russia to acquire Sputnik V vaccine

The Malaysian authorities have entered the final stage of negotiations on the purchase of Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, the country’s Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said in a televised address on Monday.

“The government is holding final negotiations with the Gamaleya Research Center,” he said. Russia’s Gamaleya National Research Center is the developer of Sputnik V vaccine.

According to the Malaysian Prime Minister, his country also plans to purchase vaccines produced by Chinese companies Sinovac Biotech and CanSino.

[Thaïlande] AstraZeneca to manufacture 200 mln anti-COVID vaccine doses in Thailand, says virologist

AstraZeneca, a British-Swedish pharmaceutical company, will produce 200 million doses of its anti-coronavirus vaccine in Thailand next year with the help of Siam Bioscience, director of Thailand’s National Vaccine Institute Dr. Nakorn Premsri, said in an interview with TASS.

“AstraZeneca is hiring the Thai company Siam Bioscience to produce the vaccine,” he explained. “The capacity will be 200 million doses of the vaccine per year. The Thai government has reserved 26 million doses for itself. This is the first batch of the vaccine to be available in May or June 2021.”

According to Dr. Premsri, from 5 million to 10 million people can be vaccinated in Thailand per month.
