LONDON – Interim analysis of Phase 3 clinical trial of the CoronaVac vaccine in more than 10,000 participants in Turkey suggests the efficacy of two doses of the vaccine is 83.5 percent against symptomatic cases of COVID-19, according to a study published on Thursday in The Lancet, a weekly peer-reviewed general medical journal.

Alors que la course mondiale à la production d’un vaccin Covid-19 se poursuit, la Chine semble avoir fait d’énormes progrès, l’un de ses leaders en matière de vaccins, Sinovac, vendant déjà des produits à l’étranger.
Le vaccin produit par la laboratoire chinois Sinovac s’appuie sur des méthodes habituelles de vaccination et a été présenté comme plus rassurant que le vaccin de Pfizer et BioNTech. L’information à son sujet reste limitée.
L’autorité sanitaire du Brésil a annoncé lundi 9 novembre avoir suspendu les essais cliniques d’un candidat vaccin chinois contre le coronavirus après «un incident grave» constaté chez un volontaire. Elle n’a pas fourni de détails sur ce qui s’est passé, mais a indiqué que ce type d’incidents pouvait inclure la mort, des effets secondaires potentiellement fatals, une invalidité grave, une hospitalisation et d’autres «événements cliniquement significatifs».
