Chinese Taoist priest Liang Xingyang has been honouring people who died from Covid-19, collecting memorial tablets to place at a hillside monastery in the eastern province of Shandong. Liang said he believes a person’s true death comes only when the world has forgotten them. Since China’s coronavirus outbreak started in late January 2020, he has collected more than 550 tablets, which are meant to help families of the deceased remember their loved ones.
